Lord Jesus Christ, at your Last Supper you prayed to the Father that all should be one. Send your Holy Spirit upon all who bear your name and seek to serve you. Strengthen our faith in you and make us love one another in humility. May we who have been reborn in one baptism be united in one faith under one Shepherd. Amen.
Let us pray for our most Holy Father, Pope Benedict.
May the Lord preserve him, and give him life, and make him blessed upon the earth, and deliver him not up to the will of his enemies.
Almighty, everlasting God, have mercy upon Your servant, Benedict, our Sovereign Pontiff, and direct him according to Your clemency, into the way of eternal salvation; that by Your grace he may both desire those things that are pleasing to You, and perform them with all his strength. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
